Kid's held hostage by talk in Jefferson County Colorado - Denver Education Reform | Examiner.com

You may wonder why you should read a story from Jefferson County, Colorado. Well, I don't live in Jefferson County either, but I do live in a school district in Colorado. You may also wonder why you should read this story if you don't live in Colorado at all. Well, let me tell you. If this is happening in one school district, it's happening in many, many more. I think these things are going on in many school districts around the country. The school boards talk about transparency, but sure don't know how to be transparent.
The Board of Education in Jefferson County, Colorado sure doesn't like Regan Benson trying to keep them honest. Her diligence in trying to find out what her county school district is spending tax payer money on is sure pissing them off. They make things difficult for her and her kids in any way they can. I can't even list the number of things various school district employees have said and done to her and her family. I like her because she's still speaking up. Regan's dedicated to making sure that when her school district makes excuses for the poor education the kids are getting because the district doesn't get enough money, that they're telling the truth; and they don't like it. The JeffCo school board does everything they can to make it difficult for Regan to attend public meetings. They want her to stop talking. After meeting her, and reading her articles, I'm sure she's not going to stop making them accountable for the taxpayer money they receive.
Now, here's the reason I think you should read Regan's article. It may help you find a way to check on your own school board in your local area. You may realize there are real problems where you're kids go to school and no one's speaking up about it. Well it's time for all of us to check out our districts and make sure our kids are getting the best education possible. If they're not, speak up about it. These bloated government agencies count on us being silent, but if moms don't speak up, who will.
Here's some of what Regan found in her school district:
[...]The Jeffco School Board along with the superintendent, were being led by a facilitator from the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB). Prior to this meeting on March 23rd, this same facilitator met with the board in the same capacity for a total of 2.5 hours in November and December 2011. The school district, by way of the taxpayers has paid CASB $3016.90 for the 2.5 hours of this particular facilitator to provide, talk. The hourly conversion rate is in fact $1,206.76 for every hour of talk provided by this facilitator. There is no known reason to the general public as to the necessity for these services or who was responsible for coordinating such.
[...]Jeffco R1 financial transparency reflection of recent expenses paid to CASB:
- Legal Fees/Financial Support to CASB (these dollars are being used directly by CASB to fund the Lobato lawsuit which equates to taxpayer dollars being used to sue taxpayers into providing additional funding for public schools in Colorado)- $84,933.00
- Annual Fees for district membership to CASB - $28,613.00
- Consulting Services- $9,975
- CASB Conference Tickets- $3560.00
- CASB fall conference registration- $2090.00
- Annual Fees for district membership to CASB- $27,792.00
The day was full of "chalk talk" on March 23rd. One might expect that if the general public were welcome at these public meetings, hearing the majority of talk by the five member board would be a compliment to good public service. However, it is often the case that the majority of time board members talk in their public study sessions, they do not use microphones and indicate fear of the general public actually being able to hear what is being talked about.
And that's just a drop in the bucket. Regan has done some great research and there's plenty of apparent chicanery and non-transparency going on out there in JeffCo. How much is going on in your school district?
Check out the rest of Regan's article here.

This article is great! J. Christian Adams is someone I really admire for his testimony before congress and his honesty in telling what he saw in the Obama Administration and the DOJ.

This article is great! J. Christian Adams is someone I really admire for his testimony before congress and his honesty in telling what he saw in the Obama Administration and the DOJ.
Here's just a taste of what he's written in this article:
America is not a land where thugs should be allowed to threaten free Americans who have been charged with no crime. Seminole County, Florida, is not Ox-Bow Canyon, where resolutions come quick by murderers with rope and a tree.
We can thank Eric Holder in part for the disgusting bravado we’ve seen from these lawless thugs over the last few days. Not only did his DOJ drop the voter intimidation charges against them, the DOJ refuses to bring what appears to be slam dunk felon-in-possession gun charges against one member.
The New Black Panthers act like they are above the law because so far they have been.Americans are taking renewed notice of the New Black Panthers and the politicians who have enabled them. What sort of country have we become that racist uniformed thugs can stalk polls and threaten free citizens with mob arrest and murder? Is this a post-racial America, or a wicked reminder of a lawless age we thought we had moved beyond forever?

Are We All Just Pawns in the Game Being Played by the Media and Celebrities Like Spike Lee and Others?
I'm so sorry I haven't written or posted anything recently. Reading and watching all the news is just making me crazy. There's so much going on, I can't pick just a few to write about.
But now, Spike Lee's irresponsible and dangerous behavior, has really pissed me off. What he's done is beyond reprehensible. I read yesterday that he had re-tweeted the address to George Zimmerman's house, which is stupid enough. Now we find out it was the wrong address.
According to The Daily Caller:
The Washington Times’ Kerry Picket went to the address that Lee tweeted as members of the New Black Panther Party were offering a $10,000 cash reward for Zimmerman’s capture, “dead or alive,” and others were demanding his arrest.
“[T]he Edgewater Circle address Mr. Lee re-tweeted out is not part of the gated Retreat at Twin Lakes where the shooting took place and where Mr. Zimmerman lives,” Picket reported. “The area is not even a gated a community.”
“In fact, I took a drive to that Edgewater Circle address that so many on Twitter re-tweeted and cursed, and I discovered through a neighbor, named Tim, who lives across the street from the address, that not only does George Zimmerman not live at the lakeside house but a woman by the name of Elaine does,” Picket added.
Picket also said several news agencies have showed up at the address looking for Zimmerman, which – with the crowds the Panthers, MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have whipped up into a frenzy – may have put the woman, Elaine, in danger.
I've also found another story in The Orlando Sentinel that talks about the address belonging to an elderly couple who have a son named William George Zimmerman. Here's part of what that article had to say:
A school-cafeteria lunch lady and her husband have received hate mail, unwanted visits from reporters and fearful inquiries from neighbors — all because their Sanford-area address is being disseminated on Twitter as belonging to Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman, her son said late Tuesday.
The woman, 70, who has a heart condition, and her husband, 72, have temporarily moved to a hotel to avoid the spotlight and possible danger, said son Chip Humble of Longwood. The woman has another son named William George Zimmerman who lived with her in 1995 and still lives in Central Florida. He is no relation to George Zimmerman, 28, who killed 17-year-old Trayvon Feb. 26, sparking national outrage and international interest.
William Zimmerman isn't sure how his mother and stepfather's address became public. He said he used it to register a car, get a drivers license and vote when he lived there briefly after college.
"This is really scary, and I'm concerned for my family," Zimmerman told the Orlando Sentinel Tuesday night. "It's scary because there are people who aren't mentally right and will take this information and run with it."
This story mentions Spike Lee's tweet also. I don't think Spike Lee should be able to just walk away from this without a second thought. He should be arrested. What he did was very irresponsible. As a celebrity, his words have power and influence and the things he says carry more weight. This gives him responsibility to use that power wisely. He had no right to tweet anyone's private address, especially when there is so much heat around this issue. He didn't even bother to see if it was the right address, although tweeting that would have been wrong too. Now with a $10,000 price on Zimmerman's head, dead or alive, by the New Black Panthers, putting just any address out without knowing if it was correct, he could have been the reason an innocent woman or elderly couple might have been hurt. He shouldn't just be able to walk away from this.
I'm sickened that he thought this was the right thing to do. What if those people had been hurt? The older couple needed to go into hiding. And why, with "several news agencies" showing up at this address, has the press not stressed that the address tweeted by Lee is the wrong address. They're content to watch while this situation gets more riled up and they sit by idly fanning the flames, by sitting on any news that contradicts the meme that if it bleeds it leads. Maybe they're just hoping for a riot, because its better financially for them if that should that happen.

Is Paul Krugman Intellectually Bankrupt? He Sure Thinks the Republicans Are.
Talk about intellectual bankruptcy. Paul Krugman is intellectually and morally bankrupt. Okay, I don't know if he's morally bankrupt, but I've never liked him in any of the interviews I've seen him in. He sure has no leg to stand on by accusing anyone else of Intellectual Bankruptcy. His partial facts and misleading comments are not honest to the conversation the nation needs to have. The post by Steve Maley is so good and puts Mr. Krugman on notice that we won't be fooled by strawman arguments and phony statistics. I may not be the smartest person around, but I know crap when I see it flung around, and believe me Krugman flings crap.
Check out Steve Maley's post at Red State:
As for the employment statistics, “lazy” and “inept” are two words that come to mind.Although he doesn’t cite a source, Dr. Krugman has apparently relied on the database of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Indeed, the industry subsector called “Oil and Gas Extraction: NAICS 211″, (part of the Mining, Quarrying, and Oil and Gas Extraction sector) shows the gain in jobs he describes, from roughly 120,000 jobs in 2004 to about 190,000 now. And he apparently stopped there.
190,000 jobs? Doesn’t that seem kinda low for an industry that comprises 8% or so of the economy?
That's just part of an article from Red State that points out the glaring flaws in Paul Krugman's op-ed "Natural Born Drillers". For someone who is supposed to be so smart, it's pretty easy to find the flaws(big, glaring errors) in his logic. He finds statistics that fit his meme. In fact, after reading his op-ed, I see he never says where he got his statistics. I'm sure he thinks no one will check up on him. After all, he's won the Nobel Prize for economics. Obviously he knows more than all Americans who are just living there lives. We just manage to balance our budgets, choose common sense ways to handle our personal economics, run our homes and raise our children. All without his Ivy League education or a Nobel Prize in economics for his brilliant mind. We normal Americans manage to figure out what works and what doesn't.
I don't want to include a quote from Krugman's op-ed, because I can't find one paragraph that doesn't make me want to scream. I know he would think I'm just some uneducated housewife, incapable of understanding his staggering intellect. I'm sure he would talk down to me the same way it seems he is talking down to and about Republicans. What he doesn't seem to understand is that Americans are not morons. We understand more than he thinks we do, unfortunately for him. We can see his obfuscating when he tries to explain anything to the "little" people. He certainly does have his own opinion and he's not afraid to express it. You can check out his op-ed if you want to. Just click here.

"The Road We've Traveled" video? (aka "Why I'm the Greatest President Ever...")
By: Kurt Sloan
BWAA HAAA HAAAA - Oh geez politicians are such LIARS! And they must think we all have no memory because they keep trying to get away with it!
Have you seen President Obama's new "The Road We've Traveled" video? (aka "Why I'm the Greatest President Ever...") In it Tom Hanks (yes, THAT Tom Hanks) says:
"Not since the days of Franklin Roosevelt had so much fallen on the shoulders of one president. Now when he faced his country who looked to him for answers, he would not dwell in blame or dream in idealism."
And he says it with all sincerity too!
WHAT THE @#%&?!? How many times have we heard Mr. Obama say "I inherited..." or "Bush's fault..." or some variance of those statements in the last three years? TOO MANY TO COUNT to my thinking! But "he would not dwell in blame" - BULL$HIT! DON'T LIE TO US! If we like you and what you've done, we'll vote for you; if we don't, we won't! Simple as that... BUT QUIT BULL$HITTING US! WE DESERVE BETTER FROM YOU AS OUR LEADER!
And even though Hanks says it, Obama's re-election campaign is behind this thing and happily gloss over all of the bad stuff while high-lighting the stuff their proud of.
Why isn't there ANYBODY running for president this year I can get behind and honestly support whole heartedly?
WE DESERVE BETTER DAMN IT!!!

Nothing to See Here...The DOJ Says Voter Fraud Not a Problem. Really?
What we see on the news is Attorney General Eric Holder telling the American people that there's no need for Americans to show ID to vote. In fact, he says, to do so would be racist. He assures us that there is really no problem with voter fraud. Really?
The head of the NAACP travels to Geneva to meet with the UN Council regarding Texas' voter ID laws. Do we really need some outside organization telling us what to do? Plus, the UN has really no moral authority to tell us what to do. Look at the countries and people they ignore and they're supposed to choose Texas voter ID laws.
I have to show ID in my state if I want to vote. It's not that hard to do. In fact, I have to show ID for many things I need to do in life.
I know AG Holder thinks there's nothing to see here. No problem...No problem at all. Watch the following video and tell me what you think.

Activist Post: Texas Mayor Officially Cancels Agenda 21 Membership
Now if we could only reach the common sense of all the other mayors. The propaganda has just been too good for Agenda 21. Oh, and most people have never heard of Agenda 21. I hadn't heard of it until just a few months ago. Check out my other posts about Agenda 21 on this blog.
Joe Wright
The city of Irving, Texas has officially withdrawn its membership from ICLEI -- the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives. This NGO was established in 1990 and is the action division of the policies laid out under the UN's Agenda 21 plan -- the globalist initiative to usher in a post-industrial world for the 21st century through the creation of local laws and requirements for city planning that essentially erase personal property rights and even steal land under a "sustainable" umbrella.
On ICLEI's own website (under the "Programs" section), they state, "Our campaigns, programs, and projects promote Local Agenda 21 as a participatory, long-term, strategic planning process that addresses local sustainability while protecting global common goods." Cities pay dues in order to obtain direction from ICLEI in establishing local policy and law. This is a violation of the Constitution, Article 1, Section 10: "No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance or Confederation..." ICLEI receives funding by the David Rockefeller Fund, United States EPA, etc. ICLEI targets mayors -- in the 'Cool Mayor' program, and other local officials to implement Agenda 21. (Source)

What I've learned about the Hollywood left | The Daily Caller
I'm pretty sure I'm not surprised by anything the hypocrites in Hollywood do anymore. I'm sure this is only the tip of the iceberg. I may have to buy the book to find out more. What I've heard Jason Mattera say during different interviews, I guess there's way more where this came from. Why do the people in Hollywood think they can tell us what's right anyway? They sure don't practice what they preach.
Author, Hollywood Hypocrites
When I set out to spend a year investigating the hypocrisies of the Hollywood left, I never imagined I would end up having my camera smashed and being challenged to a fistfight for asking Chris Rock why he calls the tea party racist. But the hatefulness and rage of Rock pales in comparison to what my research uncovered about many of his and Obama’s pals.
We can start with probably the number one race-baiting Obama worshiper, none other than Spike Lee.
After all, it was at Lee’s party at the Sundance Film Festival that Chris Rock became unhinged with me. As I explain in “Hollywood Hypocrites: The Devastating Truth About Obama’s Biggest Backers,” Lee campaigned hard for Obama in 2008 on the grounds that the community organizer would bring racial unity and spark a sense of togetherness heretofore unseen in American history. Proving that the man never met a slavery metaphor he didn’t like, Lee saw Obama’s triumph in the Democrat primary as a chance to move beyond “Massuh Clinton.”

Here we go again.
By Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller
House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa said he thinks there are “similarities” between the Operation Fast and Furious gunwalking tactics and the way those who murdered Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jaime Zapata obtained the weapons used to kill him.
During Fast and Furious, which was organized by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and overseen by the Department of Justice, the Obama administration sent thousands of weapons to Mexican drug cartels via “straw purchasers” who bought guns in the United States with the intention of illegally trafficking them somewhere else. This tactic is known as “gunwalking.”
Fast and Furious weapons were used to kill Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and at least 300 Mexican civilians.
Zapata was killed with guns that were purchased in Texas by two different traffickers. According to CBS News reports, both of those traffickers were under ATF surveillance without being arrested for a period of time while they were trafficking guns. Both were arrested at a later date.
Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn has pressed hard for answers on the details of the tactics the ATF apparently used in his state, as has Issa.Read more: The Daily Caller

Wake Up! What Freedom Will Obama Force You to Do Next?
Wake up! The Obama Administration and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services have launched a massive effort to mandate that all Americans pay for contraception, sterilization and abortion-causing drugs. Why? What dreaded disease in women's health does this mandate protect us from? The Pill, the day after pill, the abortion pill and sterilization don't protect women from AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases. So what dreaded disease are the Obama Administration and the HHS trying to save us from? Oh yeah! It must be the dreaded disease of pregnancy. But wait, why is this mandate such a big deal? Well, I'll tell you. It doesn't matter how many good Catholic women or women of other religions use contraception, the Catholic Church is pro-life in their teachings and principles and shouldn't have to provide or pay for it. Not for any of their employees working at any Catholic run institution or employees of any religious organization. We shouldn't have to pay for any of theses services with our tax dollars either. I paid for my own and would never have asked someone else to cover the cost for my choices, and generally speaking, using any of these services are choices, not necessities.
Wake up! This is NOT about women's health or some obscure war on women. This is about the Federal Government telling protected organizations what they can and can't do.
Wake up! If they can do this to Catholics and other organizations of conscience today, then who will they boss around tomorrow? This is another in the series of slippery slopes toward the loss of our rights as Americans.
Once again I say, wake up! There was a mandate released last month that will violate our civil liberties and free exercise of religion by forcing every American and every U.S. employer, regardless of religion or conscience, to pay for abortion-causing drugs, like Ella, in health insurance plans.
"The Con" - a video presented by AUL:
Can you believe that two weeks ago, Secretary for the Health and Human Services Department, Kathleen Sebelius, admitted during a Congressional hearing that this Mandate is needed because, “reducing pregnancies will cut health care costs”? Are you kidding me? That's insane. Contraceptives are available now on the cheap and some free and pregnancies have not gone down at all. Personally, I think these progressives are the racists because they think poor black and Hispanic women can't get birth control unless it's free.
Wake up! This mandate, due to take effect this summer, will violate the very principles our nation was founded on – your freedom of religion and conscience! Maybe you don't think so. Let me give you an example of the administration picking and choosing which freedoms different religions can have.
Wake up! This mandate, due to take effect this summer, will violate the very principles our nation was founded on – your freedom of religion and conscience! Maybe you don't think so. Let me give you an example of the administration picking and choosing which freedoms different religions can have.
The Northern Arapaho Tribe in Wyoming filed a federal lawsuit last year contending the refusal to issue permits for killing bald eagles violates tribal members' religious freedom. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has taken the unusual step of issuing a permit allowing an American Indian tribe to kill two bald eagles for religious purposes. Federal law prohibits the killing of bald eagles, the national bird, in almost all cases. The government keeps eagle feathers and body parts in a federal repository and tribal members can apply for them for use in religious ceremonies. The lawyer for the tribe revealed in a legal filing this week that the federal agency had issued the permit on Friday. The report states that the federal permit will allow the Northern Arapaho to kill up to two bald eagles off the reservation.
Now, I don't have any problem with Native Americans killing bald eagles for their religious ceremonies. What I do have a problem with is the government picking and choosing which religion is deserving of exceptions to federal laws. It's okay for the Arapaho Tribe to have an exemption from the law, but not the Catholics or other Christian religions.
Wake up! If the president has the authority to violate our constitutional rights in this way, what else can he do? This time President Obama is targeting Catholics and pro-lifers, but next time he could target a group that you or I belong to.
If this mandate stands, then what limit will be put on the government as far as controlling our lives?

2012 WTF #20 - To ID or Not to ID
By Kurt Sloan
2012 WTF #20 - Hmmm - Is it just me or does this seem suspicious to anyone else? The Justice Department's civil rights division on Monday declared its opposition to new photo ID requirement for voters in Texas because many Hispanic voters lack state-issued identification (just like they did with S. Carolina's similar law last year.)
In a letter to Texas officials the Justice Department said Hispanic voters in Texas are more than twice as likely than non-Hispanic voters to lack a driver's license or personal state-issued photo ID. The department said that even the lowest estimates showed about half of Hispanic registered voters lack such identification.
Uhm, excuse me, OK, so then how do they buy a beer? Maybe they don't drink! OK, so how do they cash their paychecks then? But Kurt, maybe they use direct deposit! How do they open a banking account then? But Kurt, maybe they don't have jobs so they don't need a bank account! OK then how do they get money? Well Kurt, maybe they get state assistance while they're trying to find a job!
OK, but then that is where this gets really interesting. To apply for Federal Welfare, all applicants are given a list of REQUIRED documents to bring to sign up including: "proof of income, ID, and utility bills or other proof of residency" (see "How to Apply for a Welfare Program" section, http://www.welfareinfo.org/)
SO... you shouldn't need an ID to prove you are who you say you are when voting in elections, but you damn well better have ID proving you are who you say you are to get government assistance? Where is the outrage! These people need help! They shouldn't have to prove that they are who they say they are or even that they need help! Just give them the money already! SHEESH!
Our government is sooo ridiculous sometimes it's almost funny. ALMOST!
Oh and in case you didn't hear, James O'Keefe, who “screwed” over ACORN, just released a video from Vermont and New Hampshire showing one of his employees going into multiple voting areas, giving a different name each time and being handed the REPUBLICAN primary ballot without ever being asked for ID (note: he went for the Republican to show this problem is NOT a partisan issue, but can be exploited by anyone with the desire to.)

And the lawyer, in the same interview, saying don't misunderstand they love this child, but they would have aborted her if they'd known and they are only suing because it's too expensive to raise a special needs child and it's the hospitals fault after all they are in this mess.
Did the hospital make a mistake? Yep, it looks that way. Do they deserve financial help raising the kid (beyond the normal help the government offers for children with special needs)? Probably. But is that an excuse for saying publicly that although they "love" this child they would have preferred to abort it? No, not in my eyes.
I feel sooooo bad for this child. There are sooooo many good homes in this world looking for children that would have happily taken and raised this little girl, but no, the parent decided to keep her and now feel it is too expensive to have her. The saddest part to me is that at 4 this little girl doesn't get it, but she's got siblings and they all get to grow up now knowing that their parents would have gladly killed her had they only known!!! Despicable!!!

2012 WTF #18 - Pacific NW Electric Producers Paid NOT to Produce Electricity - Consumers to Pay More to Make Up the Difference
By Kurt Sloan
2012 WTF #18 - Only in America! The government forces green energy on the populace then takes it away and either way the people get screwed!
Wind farms in the Pacific Northwest – built with government subsidies and maintained with tax credits for every megawatt produced – are now getting paid to shut down as the federal agency charged with managing the region's electricity grid says there's an oversupply of renewable power at certain times of the year. Bonneville Power Administration, a federal agency based in Portland, Ore., shut down the wind farms for nearly 200 hours over 38 days and is offering to compensate wind companies for HALF their lost revenue (appx $50 million a year.)

SO... how will the electricity producers make up the other half of the lost revenue? You guessed it, they will be looking for rate payers to make up the difference - but heck, they require taxpayers to subsidize the production of renewable energy - even though they have to pay for it as a rate payer to get the electricity; now they want rate payers to pay renewable energy companies when they lose money as well.
Looks like they have them coming and going, with the only people "winning" being the electric company who is guaranteed to not lose money and the govt who gets to hand off the requirement to pay half the money owed to the people while still making them pay the full taxes needed to subsidize the entire thing.
Yea, that seems right to me.

2012 WTF #17 - 6th Grader Handcuffed for Bad Attitude
By Kurt Sloan
2012 WTF #17 - An 11-year old sixth-grader at Shaw Heights Middle School, in Adams County, CO, was handcuffed and taken to a holding facility for disobeying the orders of an assistant principal during lunch and being "argumentative and extremely rude."
2012 WTF #17 - An 11-year old sixth-grader at Shaw Heights Middle School, in Adams County, CO, was handcuffed and taken to a holding facility for disobeying the orders of an assistant principal during lunch and being "argumentative and extremely rude."
An Adams County Sheriff's Office incident report says the assistant principal found Yajira walking in the hallway during lunch because the girl claimed she was cold and needed to get a sweater from her locker. The report says the assistant principal was in mid-sentence when Yajira, "turned and walked away saying, 'I don't have time for this.'" When intervention efforts with a counselor failed, Yajira was handcuffed and put in the school resource officer's patrol car and taken to a juvenile holding facility called "The Link."
The Adams County Sheriff's Office told 9Wants to Know that handcuffing kids during transport is standard procedure, but refused to discuss this incident because a juvenile was involved and NO CHARGES WERE FILED!
So remember kids if you back-talk a teacher in Adams County CO (which you shouldn't do, so please don't no matter where you live) you don't have to worry about detention or suspension, just the embarrassment that comes with being handcuffed in front of your friends, put in a patrol car and taken to juvenile detention so your parents can come get you - but don't worry they probably won’t file charges because it doesn't appear that you actually broke any laws that would allow them to arrest you.

***Updated (with video)*** - Is Sandra Fluke Working With the Obama Administration?
***UPDATE at end of post (with video)***
I was reading an article from Breitbart.com when I realized the same thing the author did. Sandra Fluke has a plan. She's made herself a victim, when she is obviously no such thing. Now I know many are coming out of the woodwork condemning Rush Limbaugh for his comments about Fluke being a "slut" and a "prostitute". His example was that if we pay someone for sex they're a slut or a prostitute. I don't think he was necessarily calling Ms. Fluke a slut. She was explaining to congress why she feels the American tax payers should pay for her contraception so she could have sex.
Let's be honest, this has nothing to do with women's health. They want religious organizations to go against their beliefs and teachings to offer free contraception for their employees and students. Look, if you want your insurance to cover contraception, or to supply it at no cost to you, work or go to school somewhere else. I, as a taxpayer, don't want to pay for anyone else's birth control choices and therefore, their ability to have as much sex as they want. If you don't want to get pregnant, you could try just not having sex until you can afford your own contraception.
Now, as to the plan I believe Ms. Fluke has and I found in the following article. Does anyone else think it's strange that President Obama called Ms. Fluke in person to console her over big, bad Rush Limbaugh's comments. I didn't think sitting president's did that sort of thing.
Here's the part of the article by Lee Stranahan I found particularly interesting:
However, Ms. Fluke pulled back the curtain midway through her interview on "The View" when she suggested that viewers head over to the website of Media Matters for America. As The Daily Caller recently exposed, there's been a high level of coordination between the White House and Media Matters for America, so of course it's no shock that Ms. Fluke chose MMFA as her leftist propaganda arm of choice.
One of Media Matters’s main jobs has been shutting down right wing media voices were ever possible. They want a world with no Breitbart.com, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh or any dissenting voices in the run-up to the 2012 election. The level of coordination should concern anyone because it's the president using his position and bully pulpit as a way to quell criticism by utilizing the Institutional Left’s infrastructure.
Of course, The View is a perfectly fair and balanced source on the subject since they have Elizabeth Hasselback as their resident conservative. She had not heard Rush Limbaugh's statements before viewing the heavily edited video clip shown on The View but her gut reaction was “repulsed.”
I don't know if you've read the series in The Daily Caller about Media Matters and their close association with the White House and MSNBC. I read it and it makes a great case for MSNBC and the White House working together to bring down or silence President Obama's critics. It was amazing how far Media Matters for America (MMFA) was willing to go to bring down the administration's perceived enemies.
The Daily Caller also talks about how after something showed up on MMFA, it was being used almost word for word on MSNBC by their various hosts. Once it started on MSNBC daytime, by nighttime, they would be quoting it as fact. In fact, they were stating it as fact on daytime too.
